Central takes three on its home floor
Lions beat Shelbyville, Antioch and Columbia Academy in a streamed preseason showcase

COLUMBIA — Columbia Central swept its three reported games Saturday in the Preseason Midstate Tipoff Showcase, beating Shelbyville 47–40, Antioch 53–52 and Columbia Academy 47–40 on its home floor. FPSN streamed the showcase from Central and posted the finals as livestream score updates.
The closest finish came against Antioch. Central trailed 52–51 before a late putback made it 53–52, and Antioch missed a final attempt at the buzzer. Central had also beaten Shelbyville 47–40 earlier in the day.
Columbia Academy split its first two reported games, then met the host in the nightcap. The Bulldogs lost 59–51 to Lewis County, then beat Marshall County 55–32 and closed that game with transition finishes. Central’s 47–40 win over Academy completed the showcase slate.

The rest of the day produced two more one-possession games and two wider margins. Lewis County opened with a 58–52 win over Marshall County. West Creek beat Shelbyville 48–28 and later fell 42–41 to Antioch.
