COLUMBIA CENTRAL 42, SODDY DAISY 0 • CLASS 5A
Three rushing touchdowns, a takeaway and a shutout send the Lions into Round 2

COLUMBIA — J’Mari Hall’s three rushing touchdowns helped Columbia Central turn two productive middle quarters into a decisive playoff opener. The Lions scored 21 points in both the second and third quarters and shut out Soddy Daisy 42–0 Friday in the Class 5A first round.
Central rushed for 253 yards and six touchdowns on 29 carries, according to Columbia Central game statistics supplied by FPSN. Jackson Parker completed nine of 15 passes for 68 yards with no touchdown passes or interceptions, bringing the Lions’ total offense to 321 yards.
Hall carried nine times for 93 yards and three scores. His contribution extended well beyond those runs: seven tackles, a forced fumble, an interception returned eight yards and a 30-yard kickoff return. The supplied game sheet credited him with 131 all-purpose yards.

Ha’son Baugh added 94 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Dallas King turned just two carries into 46 yards and two touchdowns, then caught four passes for 40 yards. His work on the ground and through the air produced 86 all-purpose yards.
Carson Clanton led Central with 11 tackles. Zane Nash made nine tackles, recorded three sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. Jamari Brown caught two passes for seven yards and returned an interception 38 yards, giving the Lions another takeaway contribution alongside Hall’s pick.
Nash, a senior linebacker, said in an FPSN postgame interview with Louis Maddox that film study helped him recognize when he would get one-on-one chances. “It's all preparation and knowing when I'm gonna have that one-on-one and just taking advantage of the one-on-one,” Nash said.
Asked by Maddox about the upcoming rematch with Knoxville Central, Nash answered: “Absolutely. It's very personal.”
Central coach Tra’Darius Goff said in his FPSN postgame interview that the Lions made offensive and defensive adjustments. He called Nash “the brains of the defense” and said the linebacker sets the front. “Man, he's a special guy,” Goff said.
Looking ahead to the Knoxville Central rematch, Goff said, “So it's definitely personal.”
Eli Raymer made four of five extra-point attempts, and Brown supplied a two-point conversion. Central finished scoreless first and fourth quarters without allowing Soddy Daisy a point at any stage. The Lions now host Knoxville Central on Nov. 13; their official football account described Friday as a second consecutive shutout.
